Ring Dings
I have replaced most of them especially on blocks with SS shackles from Home Depot. Anywhere else I can, I use a plain SS nut and a SS hair pin through a hole drilled into the end of the bolt or shaft. The nut keeps the shaft in place and take the load, the hairpin keep the nut from falling out.I don't mind using the pliers but the ring catches line, cloth and skin. You'll have to think out of the box. SS parts from marine store cost much more than hardware store. In absolute terms, the difference between 316 SS and the HD stuff is very little. It's fun to figure out new way of doing things. The design engineer may not always right.
