I have a 1978 Hunter 30 that needs 5 new portlights. Does anyone have any suggestions on where to find them? Or, has anyone found any good deals? I would appreciate any help.
I have purchased the S.S. ports from New Foundmetals for 84' Hunter 31. I am current in the process of installaing them. So far I am very impressed with the quality & fit. Once I finish the installation pics from the install so all can enjoy!
I have a 33 with similar broken hinges. I have replaced one port, but on the others for now, the broken hinges are "repaired" by installing two steel corner braces from the hardware store. They are screwed onto the port using the existing screws on either side of the hinge. A small bolt is used as the shaft for the dogs to swivel on. Once installed there isn't much difference in use or look.
Thanks all! I will be buying 5 of the trimatrix ports. I agree, they do look great, and I especially like the stainless steel parts. I think they will last really well. The most surprising part... THE PRICE! Again, thanks for your help.Troy
They (trimatrix) do look great....Any strong opinions of plastic versus glass? $30 for tinted, tempered glass....Just tonight I was opening my ports up ('80 - 37C) and the plastic/(acrylic?) tabs on the window fell off at two places. The windows are crazed.. Time to replace... before the first big wave "fixes" them good....--jerry
You may want to go to the Pompanette page, click on Bomar. They have a section that lists seconds only, the blems are minor, but the cost savings huge. The list they post is not always accurate you do need to call to make sure. The link is attached.
