Has anyone replaced the original square grill Seaworthy speakers which came stock with the 2000 era Hunters? I am interested in replacing mine and want something that will look stock and leave no screw holes exposed.
I suppose one could cut some starboard to match the existing speaker grill and then mount a smaller two-way speaker inside? Any ideas/input is greatly appreciated.
Thanks

if the boat doesnt leak and you spend alot of time using it then i would use boston acoustics speakers inside. the sound quality will outweigh the 'stock look' by a mile i promise.

Rufus,
Thanks for the reply. I have been a fan of Boston Acoustics since I purchase a pair of A150's back in 1979.
I still own them.
Can you be more specific about what particular model you have/recommend? The opening diameter is 5 in which would equate to a 6.5 in speaker from what I have gathered the issue is existing mounting holes which are 6.5 in across.

psh, any of the b/a stuff is, well, b.a....i did my truck in their midrange products, buy from amazon dealers and you will be treated fine, i would go for the midrage model 6.5 and get the seperate tweeter model if you can stomach adding one in the area you're working with but the co-ax model 6.5 sounds fine too. personally though in a boat i would go with a 6x9 to have more bass range without installing a sub anywhere.
