This in reference to a mast mounted steaming lamp. I have to replace my steaming light. It uses a 12V6CP which I cannot find a replacement. I am sure just about any 12V lamp will work, but I am not sure of the wattage. I believe the required range is 2nm~3nm. Will a 5 watt bult work of is that too low in wattage? Thanks

BrianD, any electrical supply house will

have cross reference books and catalogs for all miniature lamps . In this case you are looking for a 12 volt 6 candle power lamp. It is probably double contact bayonet base. If you can have it in hand when you go shopping it will help. The size of the base is important.

Thanks Ross...

I actually found that the 12V6CP is a U.S.A. type 89, <13V, 8W, .5 amp single contact bayonet base bulb. Took some serious clicking, but at least I now know what to look for. These bulbs were very popular is autos of the mid 40's to mid 50's. So they should still be readily available in auto stores. One whould hope. Thanks again, Ross.
