Need to replace my Jabsco on a 1991 26' Catalina Capri. I can't find a toilet as small as the present one.10 3/4" H X12 7/8 W X 14 1/4 D. The Jabsco and Raritan are 13 1/4" H X 17 3/4 W X 16 3/4 D. The space for the toilet is small and I do not think the larger size will fit. Any suggestions. Thanks

Raritan LBA, it's just the base, you use your existing bowl. Buy it here.

I put the standard Jabso in a Capri 26. It fit just fine.

The head compartment on a C26 is huge, relative to other boats in the range. I don't understand the space concern.

Got to agree with the comments about the Lavac head. We had one on our 76 Westerly. Back then, their logo was "a throne fit for a king" referring to the china bowl. The big Henderson pump could make the proudest of poops disappear. The seat has a gasket, that when closed creates a vacuum that sucks in water as it evacuates the bowl.

And BEST of all, due to the lid seals, it never smells! And like was said, the pump can suck down a rag!

Also, unlike the standard marine flushing pumps, this unit never has the flush water next to the outgoing stuff. :)

My 2 cents on a marine toilet is no marine toilet. No holding tank, no smell, no repairs, no clean up, pretty much no nothing in the way of a traditional marine toilet

Drywall bucket. Toilet seat made to fit bucket (amazon, eBay). Roll of 13 gallon kitchen garbage bags. Box of depends. Can substitute puppy pads.

Directions. Sack in the bucket. Depend in the bag. Job in the bucket. Tie knot in bag. Double bag. Second knot. Finished.

Kiss. Keep it simple Stewart.

Entire cost for the sailing year should be under fifty dollars.

Where to properly dispose of depends sack? Anywhere you can legally dispose of any other diaper. Follow the laws in your area.

Again, no repairs, no smells, no clean outs or clean out fees. Kiss.

Want something better than a bucket? Get a retired land toilet and fill the flush hole with cement or scilcone. No need for the upper tank, just the base and seat. This is what I am doing to my head. Real porcelain pot with no headaches of marine plumbing. In my aft cabin, building bucket version into a berth. Toilet stays hidden under cushion until you need it. 32 foot sailboat with two heads and no flush plumbing to bother with.

you must be joking....... this seems like such a ridiculous response; Peggy would be just shaking her head. I miss her so much!

The typical marine head is a wet system. All over the world, dry toilets are becoming more common place.

A famous man, a long time ago said:

"All truth passes through three stages. First, it is ridiculed. Second, it is violently opposed. Third, it is accepted as being self-evident."

Arthur Schopenhauer
German philosopher (1788 - 1860)

I have a wet system in my toter home. Rather nice one. I also have a dry system in the toter and another in the toy hauler apartment / garage. I always use the dry systems. The whole camper smells better when the black water tank has no black water in it, and no clean up, no pumping out, no repairs.
