My 2001 H320 fuel shut off knob rusted and broke off.:cussing: Hunter does not have a replacement cable (apparently Morse Teleflex does not make them anymore) - Hunter did reply to me that West Marine sells a universal cable (13') that may work but no part number. I contacted W-Marine but have not heard back.

Local marine store could not locate one either.

The cable is made by Morse Teleflex, it is 13' long, cockpit end has a knob (threaded) & engine side has wire looped around the fuel shut off lever, and both ends have threads on the jacket for mounting with double hex nuts - the mounting appears to be about 3/8" dia on both ends.

Thanks in adv for any help.

Is it the plastic knob that broke off the threaded end of the cable or is it the cable it self that is bad.
I once had the knob come off and the cable was OK and just went to a auto store for new one.
Sorry just not sure but think you are saying you need a whole new cable and never had to replace it,I always sprayed lube down it to keep it from rusting.
I also spray silicone or I think its 656 all over the engine and tranny and especialy any moving parts and all electrical parts all over the boat to keep from rusting and corrosion
My arch light connections corroded away on my 2007 already and had to be replaced.

The knob end rusted broke off ... I guess I should spray from time to time being around salt air.

I got a universal cable from Westmarine but the engine side did not have the proper mounting (most of them come with a clamp style end or a specific engine/application fitting).

I took a 1/8" brass bulkhead fitting, and machined down one end (for crimping), drilled a proper diameter for the jacket to fit and crimped it. It took me 1/2 hr ... without the lathe and special crimping tool, I would be struggling for a solution.

The new cable has a larger diameter cable rod at the knob end and it has a seal - much better design.
