Recently purchased a 1986 Hunter 28.5 and need to replace the existing SeaLander model 752 marine toilet. Want the replacement to be a manual marine toilet that will install easily from a reputable company. Any suggestions?

Two excellent replacements

The Raritan PH II has long been recognized as the best manual marine toilet in its price range. It's efficient and reliabile--keeps on working even when it's neglected. If space is tight, either the new Raritan Cricket or the Compact II are outstanding choices. You can read all about 'em on the Raritan website at www.raritaneng.com And I'll be glad to answer questions about each one after you've checked them out.

Do the Cricket or compact II have the exact same installation footprint as the 752.

Footprints

It's highly unlikely that any current toilet will have exactly the same footprint and fit he bolt holes of its own predecessor, much less fit that of another brand...and that's the last thing on which your should base your choice of toilets...it's a bit like basing your choice of a new boat on whether the sheets you bought for the current v-berth will fit the one on the new boat. Choose the toilet that you like, that fits your space and budget...and count on having to do a little sole refinishing in the head.
