The bulkhead mounted compass on my Hunter 260 is not working and the clear cover is scratched. I need to replace it. I purchased a Ritchie SR-2 Venture but it would not fit in the cutout or in the bulkhead. The cut out appears to be about 4 inches and the space in the bulkhead looks to be 5 1/2 inches. Any recommendations for a compass that will fit? I was looking online as a Platimo Mini-Contest bulkhead mount but I'm not sure it will fit.

I had my Gemini binnacle mounted compass repaired and refurbished by Viking Compass (link below). Oil was leaking and the lens was dull. Came back looking like new. You might look into repair first, but they also sell new and rebuilt compasses.
I replaced mine on a Hunter 26. I contacted the SBO store ( right here). They called me back and worked with me to get the right one with an exact hole fit.
I cannot recall but only two worked to replace with on the port side of the companionway. SBO store will know what to recommend as they have the specs and build list on your boat.
The Plastio Mini-Contest is a good replacement. Installation only required cutting a small notch at the bottom of the existing hole to fit the Mini-Contest. They provide a stick on template that makes it easy to cut the notch and to drill the new screw holes. When installed, it did not cover the old screw holes, so thoese were filled with silicon.
