I have a original Marine Air 12000 BTU reverse cycle unit for the aft cabin of my boat that is leaking coolant R22. I am looking into replacing the unit and got a quote from a local Marine Air dealer for around 3k to replace it with the newest vector turbo unit. Because of the location and other items installed in the area I really to keep the size of the unit to a width of no more than 10 inches like the current unit that is installed. I came across a company in Florida called Ocean Breeze AC and they have quoted me less than half of the Marine Air unit for one of their units in stock which was designed specifically to replace in footprint the existing unit. The Marine Air unit includes professional installation and disposing of my old unit. I would have to install the Ocean Breeze unit. I would have warranty for both, but the Marine Air would have local support from the dealer. Anybody have any experience with Ocean Breeze and how difficult it would be for me to do the replacement?
