There was a young man selling the small L.E.D. replacement bulbs at a marine swap meet here a few weeks ago. A little $$ for a complete interior change out on my 380, but VERY desirable for the power usage, light output and HEAT generated by the standard 12 volt bulbs. I've NEVER liked the amount of heat from the standard bulbs, in fact my pedestal fixture cooked thru the plastic from the heat. Has anyone done a change out? And if so, where did you get the bulbs? And, are you happy / satisfied you did? Thanks for your input; Hope you all had a GREAT 4th! San Diego Bay was FANTASTIC! Wish I could live there, not just berth there ... Jeffrey

found LED's

Hi Jeffrey: I have the old style incadescent bulbs and you are right, they run warm which means they consume electricity. I was in Costco a few weeks ago and they had a 3pack of LED reading lamps. They are the same style that are in my Hunter 27 however they are much smaller, and require 3 AAA batteries. They have velcro mounts and the lamp swivels to redirect the light. I won't remove the old original lamps but these will work just fine. I think the set of 3 including the batteries cost me about $14.00.

Replaced Mine

I replaced mine with SensiBulb (I think) they give off more light than the old bulbs and consume NO power. Very Happy with them.

LED lamps

I really like those from Costco, they are great for lighting tucked away areas, like the head, inside the aft cabin .........

Cabin Reading Lamps and Navigation

I replaced my Hella navigation bulbs with LED's I purchased from this site. It makes a HUGE difference in power draw overnight. I did have to change out the stern light to an Aqua Signal at minimal cost to accomodate the large bulb. I also purchased LED replacement bulbs for my reading lights from Defender. They make a big difference too, altho the light is blue-white and more focused that the incadescent ones. Still, I don't have to worry about amp draw and we use them much more than we did, even to the point of leaving one on as a night light when we have guests. Rick D.
