replace starter/glowplug key switch

catalina mkII RI
need to replace starter/glowplug key switch switch on 2003 Catalina MkII28. The switch is part of a Seaward instrument panel attached to an Edson pedestal. Does the wheel need to come off pedestal in order to open the housing of the instrument panel to replace switch? Any suggestions appreciated. thanks

No, you can remove the front screws and pull the front panel out then you will see the switch.

appreciate quick answer. unfortunately, panel is from Seaward who are now out of business. Panel was not from Universal as pictured in engine manual. Is yours like this? thanks

The pod is actually made by Navpod, it is easiest to remove the wheel to remove the front panel. The key switch can be replaced using appropriate Cole-Hersee switch.
