Does anybody have any pictures of how the cable is connected to the keel? My balboa 26' just has the cable connected to the bolt on one side of the keel. I am not sure if that is the best way to connect the cable?

Thanks,
Jon

Hello Jon,
No pictures, only suggestions.....all of which require a loop in the cable and 2 cable clamps (and perhaps a thimble in the loop). (1) just loop the cable through the hole where the bolt was (2) use a shackle with the pin through the hole in the swing keel (needs to be able to fit into the trunk without jamming) and loop the cable through the loop of the shackle

Our Oday had a stainless steel tang about 3 inches long that was held in place by a thru bolt. The tang could pivot in a slot in the swing keel. Bolt through the swing keel and the cable (rope in our case) was attached to the other end of the tang. Perhaps there was that type of connection prior to someone modifying it through choice or necessity?????
