Replace instruments with cup holders

I used to have two instruments on the pedestal. I would like to use the area for cup holders like the second picture, taken from this video. I am certain that more beverages will prevent grounding and speeding more effectively than the instruments.

In the video, around 6:41 it looks like that cup holder piece can be removed. This tells me my instrument holder can be replaced. I have not disassembled the pedestal yet, so I am not sure.

Does anyone know of a company selling replacement holders (instrument or cup)? I already asked Edson, and they do not. I looked on the Gemlux site that Edson recommended. I did not see anything.

If you want cup holder, then why not drill holes with a hole saw. Put a couple of straps underneath to stop your beer cans from slipping through and you’re good to go.

We have the cupholder in your second photo. Be aware that the diameter is too small for many water bottles and mugs. 12 ounce cans-size only. @jsailem has the right idea -- drill the support piece you have. Or mount something on what's there now. Lots less to varnish. Disassembly and reassembly on Edson pedestals can be an arduous task.

I would take a cupholder found on a motorboat or a large ordinary cup, drill one mounting hole in the bottom and one for drainage. Then use a screw to mount it to the instrument "panel". You might even be able to keep your instruments. Here's a crude example

If you want to do even less work, I place cup holders for strollers on railings and biminis. you could do the same on your 1" binacle tubing. As an added bonus, these things start around $6, they usually gimble in one axis and are often UV resistant
