I have come to a realization

This will probably be the last time I post a question concerning anything having to do with plumbing. From now on I'll just wing it. Peggy, you really need to soften up a little. Most of us don't have your expertise and come to the site as a first line of assistance in solving a problem without having to go to the phone and make calls long distance. I have to say that I did read the directions, and correctly surmized that Hunter placed a vented loop into their design. After checking the skematic in my owner's manual I now know how this needs to be attached to the loop. It'll be done ASAP. Too bad I don't know more about fixing stuff on my boat that breaks. I guess that is why we have experts out there to help us. How many times have we read directions and have to sit back and say "huh?" John Richard

Hang in there John

Just think, you're asking for free advice from an expert, and in truth you're getting more than you paid for..... Peggy, every on-line forum-type activity I have been involved with, back to the old dial-up bbs stuff, has had a FAQ for accumulating the 'conventional wisdom' of the group. Why do I suspect that in your case, the FAQ is your book? If so, why not think of repeatedly answering all these 'stupid' questions from the new-bies as marketing and sales, rather than complaining about it? Cheers, Bob

There is an FAQ here: the archives

And after 6-7 years of answering questions here just about everything that's in my book is in 'em...most of it--including this thread--posted to every forum BUT the "head mistress" (sanitation and plumbing) forum--which makes just finding answering all the questions a challenge. In fact, there's enough in the archives here to become another whole book! If people would take the time to search for a little info before asking questions, they wouldn't need my book...In fact, I could prob'ly vanish (and some days that's a VERY tempting thought!) and no one would prob'ly notice for a year. At the very least, I'd have a lot less typing to do--on my own time with no compensation whatever, btw...it's the online chandlery here who makes any money from my book, not me...so those who buy it here are supporting it, not me. I only get a very small royalty from my publisher for each copy sold). And I do this on 9 sites! John, you said, "How many times have we read directions and have to sit back and say "huh?" THAT's the time to ask an expert! But you didn't ask...you "just winged it" and asked for my approval of your installation...which I couldn't offer. If that's disappointing for you, it's just as disappointing and frustrating for me...I'd MUCH rather have been able to tell you why those two extra hoses were there instead of what they did wrong. But if you're really determined never to ask any plumbing questions again, at least search the archives BEFORE you start another plumbing project. Why DID you go with the CP II instead of a PH II?
