Repairing leak in water tank of Gulf 32

Gulf 32 Honolulu
My water tank is leaking into the bilges so I am afraid to fill it, in case I down the starter or engine. I want to fix this as when I sell my business in the fall (hopefully) I want to go cruising to Marshall Islands,

I have not cut through the fiberglass get to see if tank is plastic or metal. But would 5200 seal either?

Also I am worried about swarf damaging the pressure pump.

This boat has a nice hot and cold shower and kitchen faucets and I do not use water from tank for drinking.
Any advice or knowledge would be welcome.

Thanks

Jim Willis

You have NO access to the tank without cutting into something?
Where the heck is it located, encapsulated bilge?

Don't even THINK of using 5200...it's "glue" not a sealant. In fact, it actually has no place anywhere on boat! If the tank is metal and you're determined to repair it, JB Weld is a good choice. Won't work on plastic though.
