repairing interior seats

The interior seats on my boat have cracked in certain spots and they seem very flimsy. This is the lip area that the pieces of wood fit into forming the top of the v-berth and the quarter berth, and the dinette seats. I was wondering if anyone has reinforced these areas and how to go about repairing them?

Is there damage?

You didn't specify if there was any damage, or if there is just too muck flex. If there is damage, yes it is a staight forward repair, though it is a little tricky. If it is too much flex, then the solution is a little more difficult but repairable. If you could, which one is it?

yes minor damage

One of the seats has a small crack that allows the wood hatch to turn cockeyed, and the ones that have'nt cracked feel in need of reinforcement. The one that is cracked is just inside the companionway where people step in lieu of the step. This the area that most needs attention.
