Tom, I too am in the process of dropping my
centerboard on my 95 H26 to replace the actuating line. To do so the boat must be "hung" either by slings or other method to raise is off the trailer. In the archives for either "small boats" or Hunter 26 there are articles on this procedure.Once the boat is in the air then the plywood plate that surounds the mast support base under the cabin table can be raised. It is lightly caulked in place. Under this plywood will be a big bolt (3/4 inch)that holds the "bracket plate" in position. According to the drawing in the owners manual unbolting that bolt allows the plate to drop out the bottom with the center board suspended with-in it.I plan to jack my trailer up about 1 and 1/2 feet and then suspend the boat at that height. Then I'll lower the trailer and remove it to do the repair.Possibly you could add some water to your ballast tank while it is on the trailer and find your leak before starting.Good luck, it's a large job. Do you have insurance?RayS/V Speedy
