I have a 1978 23' Oday and it was damaged at the stanchion area. Had a cracked pvc fender attached to piling at my dock. At low tide the life line got caught under the crack on pvc and at high tide the stanchion pulled almost completely off deck. Currently attached by two bolts. Area below the stanchion is big opening and I do not think I can repair from below. Any suggestions would be appreciated. This will be my first time to repair fiberglass. Thank you.

Do you have any pictures? with a couple of pics of the area from above and below, you can get some pretty good and specific advice. If you don't have pics you will get general advice that you will have to adapt to your situation.
