Dale, paint preferences seem to vary...
...and Toplac was recently discussed on another BB where it got raves from a few users but only a qualified vote from another. As you probably know, seemingly 90% of a paint job's ultimate results are a function of preparation, so it seems a shame to select a paint that is softer, will lose its gloss sooner, and wears a little more should you pick a one-part poly or basic oil-based paint (e.g. Toplac or Brightside)...altho' I've heard numerous folks who painted hulls with these products, were pleased, and like that the touch-ups that were later needed were so easily done (due to the paint being one-part).I've used a lot of Brightside and painted both a hull and a deck, at different times, with Interthane. I found International's tech dept. to be very helpful and in both cases was glad I spent the add'l money (and a bit more time) to use a two-part paint for hull/deck painting. But ultimately, you can decide if a bit more expense & effort is worth it for your boat. I think it's fair to say that, while perhaps the job won't look hugely different in year #1 and #2, it will from then on.Jack
