care of painted hulls
You did not say whether the paint was a 2 part (catalyzed) paint job or single part paint that readily dissolved in solvents.Regarless, you want to try to avoid compound and/or acetone/MEK etc for removing scuff marks. Use our ISLAND GIRL Pink that is very gentle. Just put on a small amount onto white paper towel and gently wipe off the mark. significant color transfer from the paint will indicate its sensitivity. Then immediately inactivate with water or water-based sealant (SILKENSEAL).The Superwax was actually designed for gelcoat so that it is thick enough to "bridge" minor pores, cracks etc. and leave a smooth surface.Paint always has a smoother surface and if wax is used a thin coat would be all that is required (i.e. regular boat wax). However, if Superwax was used the scuff marks would be only in the wqax!.We are working on an "LPU wax" and may have samples (if time) at the upcoming SAIL EXPO in Oakland (April 26-30th).thanks for the interest - hope this was of some help.Jim W
