After having to go forward too many times this summer to adjust lines that are not led back to the cockpit, I have decided that Tula's lines need to be reorganized and the old Spinlock clutches (4 now on each side under the dodger) replaced (two clutch levers broke this summer thru old age). I often sail with novice crew. I have a 130 furling genoa, self-furling main, gennacker and storm sail (never used) Questions: 1. beefy rope clutch recommendations and how many? 2. which lines do owners lead back and on which side? 3. any other comments that would help to end up where I can control those sails from the cockpit and keep an eye on the rookies. Many thanks guys, Peter

lines aft

As far as clutches go, we have had very good success with Lewmar, Spinlock XTs are a great choice too. Typical arrangement for line running aft are halyards on starboard side and control lines (topping, reef, sheets, etc) on port. You will also need free turning blocks at the base of the mast as well as an organzier somwhere in between the mast blocks and the clutches...depending on how far the length is.
