The navy blue canvas on my eleven-year-old spray dodger is looking a bit tired. I cleaned it again this spring with Star Brite canvas cleaner and then re-waterproofed it. But the navy blue color is getting faded. Has anyone come up with a way of renewing the canvas short of outright replacement? Thanks for your help. Gary Wyngarden S/V Shibumi H335

Dyed Acrylic Renual?

"Sunbrella" is one well known Acrylic fabric, often used in marine "canvass" applications. Their product is sollution dyed at the factory - a process that will be hard (impossible?) to duplicate. The link is to the "Sunbrella" care & cleaning page; but makes no mention of re-dyeing. Perhaps you could contact Glen Raven Custom Fabrics (manufacturer) @ www.sunbrella.com. Regards, Gord
