Renewing carpet hull liner.....it's amazing

Some things go so good you just gotta tell someone, or at least to document the archives. Always dreaded the inevitable job of removing and replacing the carpet hull liner on my 31. Trying to decided if I should cut around the cabinets or remove them.....either way it would be the job from hell. Just for the heck of it, I sprayed a 50/50 bleach/water solution on the awful black and brown stains which were spotted all over front to aft. AND THEY DISAPPEARED RIGHT BEFORE MY EYES! Everything.....it's all gone and looks like new, that's right...NEW, and I'm not exagerating. Honest....I can't belive it. I didn't scrub, or even touch it. Sure there's probably some behind the carpet, but who cares, it can't be seen. Oh what a great day.

I did the same thing. My guess is that the bleach doesn't affect the synthetic used to make the carpet. No color change, just mold-be-gone.

I did the same thing. Figured I had nothing to lose. Just take precaution and wear a msak so as not to breathe the bleach fumes. And don't mix bleach with ammonia!!
