Folks, have a friend of mine that yesterday pulled his Renault diesel out of his Contessa 26. i have looked on the web for gasket sets for this engine but have had NO luck! Anybody have any info were he could find a complete gasket set for a renault RC8D diesel. Thanks all. Frank _/)

Well, the bad news is that engine has been out of production for many years (20?). I almost bought a Hunter 27 with the same engine a year ago, but I too was unable to find parts on the web (I had heard they were hard to find) The local marine diesel shop here in Atlanta told me back then that a few parts may be available but he has to order from England. If you want I'll get his name and number for you.

Renault gaskets

If you cannot find any gaskets, I have a source that can make gaskets. Paper gaskets can be cut by hand of course, but the head and exhaust gaskets usually are copper clad. e mail me rjensen02@hotmail.com
