I have to remove a piece of teak that's been epoxied (or Sikaflexed, etc) onto the deck. I'm installing a new heater, with a larger diameter chimney and rain cap. That means a bigger piece of wood than the existing one. I've tried just hammering on it's side to shear it off the deck. Didn't even budge! So short of a shotgun, any suggestions for getting it off without damaging the underlying fiberglass? If I can't do it any other way, my fall back position is to use a chisel to destroy the wood, and sand off the final little bits. Thanks for any ideas.

You've removed the existing chimney and the 4 bolts showing in the photo already correct? Were the bolts fastened all the way through? I think you're right about needing to get after it with a chisel.Have you tried getting under it with some piano wire or electric guitar string? That would be my other suggestion. I found a wire "cutter" with rings on either end to grip at a plumbing store that's used to cut pvc pipe in restricted space that would probably cut under it.If you resort to chisel, I'd use a skill saw set to precise depths to cut that big piece into smaller pieces. Great idea! I have used a wire with a steel ring in each end (for grip) to cut firewood before, and it worked surprisingly well. They're often sold in outdoors stores for survival equipment. I'll see if I can find one. Yes, I did remove the existing chinmey and it was bolted all the way through to nuts on the cabin ceiling.
