I have a 1986 Hunter 31 and I am in the process of trying to take off the traveler track to replace it with a new track. The skrews are not budging at all. I have tried liquid wrench and WD40 with no real luck. I was however able to remove 3 of about 18 skrews. There are no bolts and it appreas that the skrews are skrewed into a metal plate because they are not wood or metal type skews. My next option appears to be to drill out the skrews which I hesitate to do. Has anyone replaced there traveler track or dealt with skrews that just will not come out.

Same here.

I'm with Tom. We replaced ours after about 5 years. It was nearly impossible to move with wind loads above about 10 kts. The new Harken (over 10 years old now) still works like it is new. The best part was this was an extremely easy installation because Harken Custom Drilled the track. Remove the old one and install the new one. I would highly suggest that anyone replacing their traveler have the track custom drilled. Redrilling and tapping all of the 18-20 holes is going to be a big job, with lots of chance for mistakes.
