Removing the boom

It has been a while but as I remember you need to remove the sail (obviously) and the the main sheet needs to be removed. Remove the snap rings. Then you lift the aft end of the boom up and it will detach from the boom fitting.

Mine (40.5) has a pin you drive out with a drift punch and the judicious application of impact modulation.
As I've said before impact modulation is the precise engineering application of impact to achieve the goal. If you break it you where not doing impact modulation but where "Just beating on it too hard or in the wrong place"

Bill: That is how my current Isomat boom detaches from the mast fitting, but these older ones were different. When you look at them it is not obvious so that is where the catch is.
It is also not a bad idea to order a new set of snap rings. The can bounce when you remove them if you are not careful (same result when you are careful).
