Removing numbers off of sails

If adhesive backed PVC or 'insignia cloth' numbers, on DACRON sails:
• remove the stitching (if such has stitching),
• peel off the numbers (use a heat gun on LOW if 'really adhering')
• ... use GOO-GONE™ to remove any of the old and discolored adhesive still remaining.

I can second this as I did with my new to me genny last year. Takes some work with the Goo Gone but, the sticky stuff does eventually come off. It took about 15-20 minutes with each number for me. Spray a bit, let sit, I used paper towels to dab/rub it off. Repeat until gone and move on to next number.
