I really don't use it except for storing a few papers and a couple of paper charts. It really is small for any paper charts except in the old days when they used to make the book type paper charts but not any more. I have a chartplotter on the helm and a backup GPS below against the cabinet wall on the back of the nav station.
I will like to have the extra room that it will free up.
If someone has done I'll appreciate some tipe such as where are the screws holding it to the cabinetry, etc. so that it will be easier rather than to figure it out especailly if they have hidden screws.
I just removed the oriignal table (very well built and stable) but very unconfortable for sliding on the dinette seats because of its width. I built a smaller table that folds up against the starboard side and opens up a lot of space on that side for people to seat around the seats in the saloon.
