removing Hurth transmission

Hi all,
I need to replace the transmission on my O'Day 34. How difficult/easy is to remove it (Hurth 50)? Can I do it in the water?

Removing the transmission should be straightforward. Unbolt the coupling, remove the top bolts on the motor mounts, remove the shift cable, remove the bolts holding the transmission to the engine.

You could do this while she's afloat, if you have a traditional stuffing box, but not if you have a PSS shaft seal.

This is from memory, and I may have skipped a step. All of which makes me think that if you have to ask, you probably should not attempt.
