Removing gasketed windows?

I bought trim-lok material while in the US to replace my aging window gaskets. I believe I bought material for 1/4" windows and 1/4" hull thickness. However, I'm not certain the replacement gasket will fit, and would like to remove the old gasket without destroying it. Does anyone have a guide on how to remove this gasket?

I replaced my gaskets but used VW window gaskets from around the same year as my boat was built (1970) as that's what Vega used. It wasn't easy but worked like a champ. You will need a few special tools and the help of a friend, but it is very doable. PM me if you need more details. I'm at halandcindy at yahoo.com. Hal

Did you get the "one" piece locking trim lock, or the "two" piece locking trim lock? Has anybody used the "one " piece locking trim lock, and if so, how do you like it? I used the following for my MkI: Yahoo! Groups don't recall removal being a problem. Just lever the rubber seal starting at the joint, you may need to cut a couple of mm to get some purchase. Ensure that there's something soft like a blanket for the glass to land on.
