Very Easy to do...
Paul, From memory, you only have to remove the bolts that hold on the pump, and then remove the rod/pin that sticks out of the block. That rod/pin is what drives the mechanical pump. Once it is removed, a metal plate with a gasket is bolted on in place of the pump. Fuel fittings would then be reconfigured to go to an electric pump (I assume that's why you are asking).
