Does anyone know of a product that I could safely use to remove the contact cement (or whatever it is ) that Hunter used to attach the carpeting in the '87 Model 40'er. The carpeting has become dirty and water damaged over the years and has to be removed, but I'll have to deal with removing the "gunk" behind it without damaging the fiberglass. Any suggestions.

Great product Goof Off

We used Goof Off tyo remove rubber cement, tape glue, caulking, etc. Best product I have ever used--really works. The only place I have ever found it is at Home depot. About $3.50 per pint. Bill Kirch

Goof Off?

You can find goof off at any good paint store. Its quite agressive, so be careful and follow directions. If your going to reinstall new fabric you may not need to totally remove old adhesive. Perhap a quick once over with a palm sander to remove loose material will be good enough to get a good bond.
