Can anyone suggest technique for removing bottom paint from a Catalina 22
It is currently poc-marked and blistered.
How do I remove this without harming gel coat

Your bigger concern should be how to repair the blisters.

Removing the paint can be done with remover chemicals, sanding or blasting.

Opening the blisters, drying the hull, fairing and replacing the removed gel will make the bottom paint removal inconsequential.

Take a look at Peel Away Marine.

After the paint is removed you may find that you really do not have blister in the gelcoat.

If you're at a marina you should check first to find out what the marina will allow. My marina gave few choices and I ended up sanding (dustless) off 9-10 coat of old bottom paint It was tedious, grueling work. I was pleased to find only one blister once all the paint was off.

It took me 5.25 hr with a 5" random orbital sander to do my MacGregor 26D.
Try the stripper first.
