Removing bottom paint from gelcoat

I was nearly done painting the bottom of my boat when I goofed up and got a little of the bottom paint on my gelcoat. I tried to wipe it off immediately with no success. What is the best option to clean it up without damaging the finish? Thanks in advance for any advice!

It depends on the bottom paint. Try acetone. And "no", acetone does not attack gel coat.

That what I was going to try, but i wanted to make sure.

if it is hard epoxy type.... then you are screwed. but for future reference... epoxy cleans up very well with white vinegar if you get to it before it cures.

If it is ablative type... then you can buff it off.
