Hello,

We are looking to reupholster the cushion on the headboard in the aft cabin of our Hunter 376. While it might be possible to do this in place, it would be easier with the panel removed. Unfortunately, it appears that the cushioned pad is screwed through the molded plastic that runs along the starboard quarter. Has anyone ever removed the molded plastic section on a 376 (or similar boat--I am assuming this was a common design)? Is it hard to remove? Is it hard to re-install?

Thanks!
Doug

I do think it is screwed into that Moulded fiberglass. Are there accesses at the bottom of the trays above or can you access it from underneath the bed in storage? You coul also cut the fabric off(assuming you’re replacing and then reach the screws holding them in.

Had the same problem. In fact if you pull hard on the fabric covered panel it will loosen from the back. The panels are fixed with nylon plugs holding by friction/,

That's the way lots of car panels are held in place. There may be a tool that can be inserted between the headboard and panel to help pop the connector.
