removed 5200

I have removed 5200 before. It was around some wires and what I did was cut it from the wires. I have to admit, it was difficult......

Use a Guitar String

When I need to get something that was attached with 5200 off of my boat, I use a guitar string as a saw. You can get strings at your local discount store (Walmart etc). Use one of the base strings that has a wire wound around a core. Wrap the ends around two short lenghts of dowel, and saw the thing free of the deck. YMMV, Justin - O'day Owners' Web

Removal is "sometimes possible" ............

........... if the parts involved are all metal. I have found that 5200 will soften with heat. Regards, s/v Island Hunter

Anti-Bond is great

I have used Anti-Bond to get a depth gauge removed from a bulkhead, and to remove a hatch. It is a pump spray can. It softens the 5200 to the point that you can rumb it off with your fingers. Take your time on delicate parts, allow it to soak in and soften all the 5200. BoatUs, West, and most marine stores now carry it. About $12 a 4 oz can. s/v Nancy Ross 1977 H-30

Anti bond works

I used the AntiBond 5200 when putting in new port lights. Worked great! Warm temp makes it work faster. Do not get it on plastic, it will melt it. Fiberglass, No problem.
