HI,
Happy New Year to all. I have to remove the stove from my 260, 2002-(Kenyon Kiss cook top model )and return it to the factory for repair. Would anybody tell me what is involved as far as tools or special skills? The project appears to be simple but before I travel to the boat any hints are appreciated. I hope it is a matter of a few bolts and a lift out.

The flame keeps going out and I am told it has to be returned to the factory for repair. I priced other stoves and found them to be rather expensive.

I should have done this in the fall!!

Thank you very much,

I had a similar problem with mine when we first got our boat. After removing the screws in the top and disconnecting the vent line under the stove I removed it. After cleaning the burner ports and tubes I tested it in the garage with a new bottle of butane. It has worked fine ever since.

My Kiss failed on me as well. Since most of my cooking is done when shore power is available, I installed an electric cook top.

We grill in the cockpit when we are anchored away from the slip. I also carry a Coleman camping stove as a backup.

Thank you for the replies. I will remove the stove and try the cleanig the ports. If this is not successful the factory will reatore for a fee of 60. and that includes return freight. some of the prior posts stated this may be a regulator problem.

We only use this for making coffee and also have purchased a camper stove, one that screws onto the top of the canister,it makes good coffee but the stove should be functional.

Thank you again

Did the same thing

We did the same thing on our 1999 H260 last fall. Sent it to the factory (with a check for $60 - covered repairs and return shipment) - and about three weeks later got it back. I tested it - seemed to work great (would not hold a flame before - even with a full tank of butane) - will let you know this spring for real!

Regarding removing - it's simple to remove from the boat - a screw driver is all that I needed - once the vent hose is removed. I attempted to remove the glass top to ship it - but that became rather messy - I ended up putting everything back together and shipping the entire stove (very well packed however). Just for jollies - I've kept the packaging the stove was returned in - just in case.
