Our head scaled up and was barely working. We cleaned much of the buildup off with CLR. There is still some buildup in the most difficult to replace hose. Can we run Lime Away or CLR through the system without damaging it - including the holding tank. Or should we stick with vinegar? Thanks for any advice.

CP is an enzyme product that will work without scrubbing if you leave it in long enough. It also does not damage the hoses and gaskets that it will come in contact with like many other products will. I empty most of the water by dry flushing and then fill up to the water line with CP diluted with fresh water. I am also a fan of KO which is good for controlling holding tank odors.

CP won't remove mineral buildup...
But white vinegar will. Run it through the hose daily till you dissolve what's there. Don't use CLR or LimeAWay...it'll damage the rubber parts in the toilet. You have mineral buildup in a toilet that uses FRESH water??? That's VERy rare! Put a filter in the line to the toilet and change it regularly.
