Hi
The mirror in the forecabin on our Oceanis 37 has badly deteriorated and I'm keen to replace it. However it appears to be bonded to the wooden panel behind it.
Has anyone got any tips please?
Regards Rob

Thanks, yes! Sorry, I should have included this first time round! This is before the silvering on the back started to fail.

I’ve never taken that mirror off on mine, but I’ve heard from another 37 owner that the panel the mirror is bonded to is just attached to the cabinetry with Velcro, like this -

Once you have the board off it should be possible to separate it from the mirror with a putty knife, or maybe fishing line to cut the adhesive. Maybe have the new mirror ready to reinstall in case the old one cracks on the way out.

Never mind, I thought you meant the other mirror. Maybe still try the fishing line trick to cut the adhesive?

Thanks @Davidasailor26 , the mirror above the table in the forecabin is indeed held on with Velcro (which works very well), but this mirror is fine!
Yes, I had wondered about using line behind it too.

Maybe put some adhesive backed velcro right on top of your existing mirror and attach a new mirror right over the old one. Make it a teeny bit larger.
