Has anyone ever removed their Catalina folding interior table. I was wondering if there is an easier way than crawling under and unscrewing everything. Like a lot of Catalina's the Capri 26 table are built around the mast support. Our Capri 26 is much smaller than our last Catalina's and would like to make more room. I'll build a smaller table to replace it. Thanks, JOHN

The year you are referring to must make a difference. My 1998 Cat 250 table just sits on an aluminum press fit pedestal like many RV use. The table has a deep inset in it that fits back against and 300 degrees around the mast support with a small table piece that fits in behind.
We like the size of our table but had to raise it as it was too low. Does your table help support your forward berth when used? Mine does.

I'm sure you're aware, but the 26 uses the table to convert the settee into a large bed(The boat came with cushion inserts), so you'd be removing that capability.

That looks nothing like mine as mine is basically a circular unit that does not flip down. Our boat is a wing keel also and that type of table concept is used a lot in retractable keels. We really like our table though. Chief
I understand what you are saying about the table converting to a bed. I can away jury rig some board slats. We are not as young as we use to be & like more open area and we are use to eating with the British soft tables anyways. Looks like I have to dive under & go for it. Mahalo & Aloha for the info. JOHN
Before you start, a few things:
The lock ring would require removing the compression post to remove. If memory serves. Although, you may be able to use it for your new table.
The table is merely locked by tightening a bolt against the post. Therefore, while not intended, it is capable of being raised all the way to the roof. Folded or not. This may allow more room below. - it may also turn into a head banger.
OR, you can rotate the table. So if the aft of the table is in the way, you can rotate it left or right.
Or a combination. IE raise a little and rotate with the table folded. Then put back in position when ready to use the table.
Last: whatever you do, do not discard that table. Future buyers will be substantially discouraged by its absence.
