Several years ago there was a lot of advertising about a new solvent to remove 5200 adhesive without damaging fiberglass. Now I need it. Can't find it in several online supply stores or in MMMs website.

Does it still exist? Does it work? Can it be used to remove the deck of a 14' sailboat so I can work on the centerboard trunk inside?

I think it's called Anti Bond.
Indeed it is called Anti Bond and it does still exist. Only source I know is WM. Somewhere around 17 or $18 for 4 oz. So removing the entire deck with it will be quite expensive. Good luck

Geoff, here are two links to take a look at. I have not tried either product, so I cannot attest to their efficacy.

I used the Marine Formula to remove 14 port lights on my Morgan/Catalina. It works well and only takes a very small amount (spray) to be effective.

heat.... if you have a large area to do, you can gently apply heat and it will soften the 5200 so you can either pull it loose or seperate it easily with a knife without damaging the fiberglass.
keep in mind it will take a bit for the heat to penetrate the outside glass layer and heat the 5200, but it may be the only way to do it...

polyester resin will take quite a bit of heat, but it and the gelcoat will scorch if you heat it too fast.... epoxy on the other hand, doest take as much heat to cause it to soften... so it can be damaged with heat where the polyester is fine at the same temp....

5200 Remover

I've used DSR-5 successfully with both silicone and 5200. It's about $40/quart at Amazon but it works well and a little goes a long way.
