I often use my 336 for fishing and would like to remove the boarding ladder so that I might open the cockpit without the ladder in the water. Has anyone came up with a way to remove the ladder temporarily? - Fred
What I have seen done, and popular with Catalinas here, is to take it to a stainless shop and have them install a sleeve so that you can join it with a fast pin. It's a quick fix so that the steps can be removed but all the hardware including one first small section of rail stays put.
I still think it could be done. I am going to the boat tomorrow and will check it out to validate (if I can remember that far). Got a race over the weekend, so I need to prep.
