A few words of caution
I might have posted this before but if anyone would like a remote control switch for their windless you can buy them for $10 on eBay. Just go to eBay and search for a Jeep winch remote. Free shipping as well. They work great and are easy to install.
Here is a photo of a recommended remote from ebay
The reason I like this type, is because it has an on/off switch.
I strongly suggest you get a model with an on/off switch, and put a piece of electrical tape on the switch so that it can't be accidentally turned on.
Here is my concern. These remotes typically are left in the chart table or drawer. If the button is accidentally pushed by something resting on it, this could seriously damage your windlass by driving it upwards while it is already all the way up.
Or, you're out sailing one day, and your anchor starts to deploy, because a can of beans in the same drawer has rolled over onto the switch.
Next thing....
Some of these remotes have a short delay. In that. I mean there is a time period from when you release the switch to when the receiver turns off its relay
For this reason, don't run your anchor all the way up to the "home" position with the remote. Stop at 6 inches, and use your foot switches to jog it to the final "up"
You just don't want to damage your motor by running the windlass with the anchor fully up.
