well someone put that cable in there the first time it may be a chore but it can be done again..... i would think you may have to do a lot of crawling and cussing getting it done...i personally think that if someone else has done it the least i can do is do it again..... i guess it depends on how bad you want to replace it ...what's that saying....... where there is a will there is a way

Try digikey or mouser. Most connectors are standard items and can be replaced.
The trick is to get the paper catalog which has pictures and dimensions for the connectors. The web version makes you chose one connector and then download the data sheet to check the dimensions.

It may not be as hard as you think to run a new cable. Since you already have one run you can tie a string to the old cable, so when you pull the old one out the string will come with. Then you can pull the new cable back through using the string.

I installed Remote Mic on my 2007 H36 and didn't have to run the cable because it had already been run to the Nav Pod from the factory, so all I had to do was drill the hole and mount it.

You may have to cut a few zip ties where the cable runs through the lazarette, but there is a nice tube raceway that the cable runs through in the less accessible areas.

Depends on where it goes and how much of the boat needs to be taken apart to get it done. By the same token, the possibility of replacing the connector will be entirely dependent on your skills at soldering and ability to seal up the wires afterward.

Yes

You should be able to splice a new connector inside the nav pod
and in my nav pod I have seen other splicing of wires,just make good connections and use shrink tubing to seal it.

I agree with splicing a new connector and will try that next time. When I installed a remote mic for the new VHF, I found existing pull strings in all of the sections of the cable runs. Even with that, it was difficult to pull the cable thru because of the connector. When I was done and re-read thru the installation directions to make sure I had not missed anything...the instructions suggested it may be necessary to cut and reattach the connector for some installations.

In my years, I can tell you, if you can run a new cable with connectors attached, do it. With my eyes I have seen, most of the time those splices are the main source of trouble between corrosion and vibration... But sometimes you just have to do what you have to do...

And, if you splice and it fails, you can replace the cable later...
