Gelcoat-the lowest common denominator
Stuart - Ask whoever is selling "flowcoat" what the difference is: I suspect it may be semantic.I've been reading all the posts on this particular topic and it's obviously a concern that ALL fiberglass boat owners share, to some degree. Given that, it's odd that some company that enjoys a reputation for high standards & professionalism ( as WEST does in the epoxy field) has not produced a manual detailing the repair methods. As you've noted,it's easy to get overwhelmed with information on the topic. In the absence of a definitive primer that you can trust, you just have to wade through and I think you will find some common "truths" will become apparent.I recently watched a couple of 30 min. videos on the subject that demystified it for me. I took careful notes and would be happy to share the info with you if you e-mail me direct: it's a bit too long for this forum. It is really a fairly simple business & the only real hassle is in getting a good colour match. The rest is just following the basics & don't look for "miracle fixes".
