relocating the battery

I relocated the battery from under the cockpit where it was a pain to access to the forward dinette locker, the one with the keel bolt. It sits against the keel housing and the aft side of the locker. Also added a tie down. The battery box just fits into the space. The weight is better located here too for trailering and sailing.

I have plans to do something very similiar with a pair of batterys.

How did you connect it up to the transom equipment?

the Sirius has hull liner in the cabin area so from the cockpit locker I was able to drill a hole through a bulkhead about 6 inches below the backside of the electric panel. This hole was between the liner and the hull so it was just a matter of feeding it through to the dinette locker. I made up a wire harness of 4 12 gauge wires ( 2 to the panel and 2 from the solar panel regulator) in a protective jacket. I also added a 20 amp main fuse in these lines near the battery.
