I have two (2) group 27 batteries in starboard lazarette that I would like to move. I have some physical issue that prohibit me from easily accessing the lower lazarette. Has anyone moved the batteries or have batteries located in another location? I would prefer not to relocate the batteries to the port quarter birth. I am looking to make some electrical modifications and equipment additions and need to resolve the battery issue first. Thanks for any thoughts or comments..
Relocating batteries on an O'Day 272

Our 272 LE came with one group 27 battery in the cockpit locker and one in the starboard locker (under the settee) in the main cabin.....I think they had weight distribution issues with the addition of the wheel steering system and inboard diesel..so needed to move one of batteries forward....the 30 gal. water tank balances the weight side to side...... Patrick
Since you have the 272 without the diesel logical place is under the stairs. I used that space for my fridge and that would be a great place for your battery bank system. It's in the center of the boat and easy access and lots of room.
