A lot of information has been exchanged on relocating batteries in Hunter 34s. Our 34 is a 1984 model and it looks possible to relocate the batteries from the old aft basement area to the aft port cabin, specifically in the lower part of the hanging locker area just aft of the bulkhead. This is relatively close to the engine and would provide ease of access. Also may help mitigate the starboard tilt. It is a given that they would be properly secured. Is there any safety problem in putting one above the other? Could also follow hull shape and step the top one further from the centre line. Have read about putting them under the port settee but would rather keep them close to the engine so do not see this as a preferred option.
Thanks in advance for any assistance.
