That's what I figured. Since there is more than one chainplate on the boat, the load is really divided down between all of them, so it looks like lots of margin. I'll wager that that chainplate is a stock design and there is probably a 1/2" hole version on a bigger boat somewhere anyway.
By the way, it sure does shine....looks almost electropolished. Very nice.
